Things to Do
During your stay at the Royal Resorts Sea Aquarium you will find there's no shortage of things to do; That is unless of course all you want to do is sit on a lounge chair and read a book by the beach or at one of the pools. You see, you don't even have to leave the resort to keep as busy as you want. An orientation meeting on your first morning at the resort will fill you in on everything that's going on during your stay, Or just ask your own friendly concierge for advise about anything. The specially trained and friendly concierge will be glad to show you around.
Speaking from personal experience, there have been some visits I didn't travel far off the resort property. My vacation weeks were spent by the pool or the private beach, playing games like bingo and cornhole bean bags with resort friends, or simply watching the majestic dolphin's at the sea aquarium. There's a restaurant and now a breakfast bar by the pool. I promise you will never be board unless you want to be board.

Get out and about
Some of us enjoy making our own meals in our villa kitchens or on one of the many resort barbeques. Things always seem to taste better when you make it yourself. The resort offers complimentary rides to the local supermarket for groceries. Just sign up at the office to get a spot on the grocery store bus or ask for barbeques to be brought closer to your room, the beach or by the pool.
Other things to do
There are several other beaches, restaurants and even a casino within walking distance to the Royal Resorts Sea Aquarium. If you like to hike, check out the pictures below of walk I took just outside the resort.
Before I go any further into my discussion of things to do on the island of Curacao let me just mention that Curacao is a top world wide spot to go ocean diving and snorkeling. Ocean encounters next to the Royal Resorts office has diving programs for beginners to professionals. They teach it all and are reasonable priced. I for one still haven't gone deep sea diving but I'm sure I will soon. As for now I always bring my snorkeling gear and spend hours in the safe waters surrounding the resort. Below are some pictures I took with a cheep underwater camera on one of my adventures. As you may imagine, you don't have to dive deep to see unbelievable ocean life.
Deep Sea Fishing
Fishing is always a great way to spend time while on vacation. If you decide to go fishing on the island of Curacao, make sure you are up to date with the current fishing laws. Nothing could dampen a vacation plans like breaking a law by mistake. I for one have done my fair share of fishing on the shoreline of Curacao's beaches but nothing beats the sound of a black fin tuna hitting your line while on a chartered boat. Fishing boat charters on Curacao are reasonably priced and your concierge will gladly assist you to make reservations for a half day tour. Or simply follow an advertising link found on this website. If you decide to do the full day trip, the skipper will probably take you out to marlin alley ( a deep water channel off the coast of Klein Curacao). Klein Curacao is a small island about 40 minutes away by boat.
Klein Curacao
As stated in the above fishing conversation above Curacao has a very small desert island about 40 minutes by boat off her coast. This island is called Klein Curacao. Klein Curacao has no human population. If you are up for the most secluded peaceful adventure of your life, Klein Curacao is for you. You may find one or two charter boats going out to this island daily. My family and I tagged along with a group of Dutch deepsea divers destined to dive the magnificent shores of Klein and to see her shipwrecks. Klein Curacao has an old abandoned lighthouse on the middle of the island. I'm guessing the light house wasn't occupied when the numerous ships rammed her northern coastline. Below are a few pictures of my adventure. While leaving the island, we left a newlywed couple on the beach by themselves to spend the night alone on the uninhabited island. What an awesome way to start a life together. If you someday dare visit the island of Klein Curacao bring plenty of sunblock and lots of water. There is little shade and you won't find to many places to dodge the bright sunshine. One other thing, do not go in the light house. it is very old and slowly falling apart. If you get hurt you are going to stay hurt for a long time. Once again Klein Curacao is a uninhabited island. No hospitals for hours.
